Code of conduct

Soft blush-white peonies on a white background

As a naturopath and Christian counsellor, I am not registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra). In New South Wales I practise under the Code of Conduct for unregistered health practitioners, set out in Schedule 3 of the Public Health Regulation 2022 (NSW). I am also an accredited member of the Australian Traditional-Medicine Society (ATMS), member #56241, and follow its professional standards.

Read the full NSW Code of Conduct on the NSW Health website.

What the code requires

Under the code, health practitioners like me must, among other things:

  • provide health services in a safe and ethical manner
  • not claim to be able to cure cancer or other serious illnesses
  • not discourage you from seeking or continuing medical treatment, and refer you to other health professionals where appropriate
  • use standard precautions for infection control
  • not financially exploit clients or misinform them about the services offered
  • keep appropriate professional boundaries
  • comply with privacy laws and keep appropriate records
  • hold appropriate insurance
  • display the code and information about how to make a complaint

My commitment to you

  • I will treat you with respect, dignity and care.
  • I will only offer services within my qualifications and training.
  • I will support your health alongside your medical care, never instead of it, and encourage you to keep your GP and specialists involved.
  • I will give you clear, honest information so you can make your own decisions.
  • I will ask for your consent before any service, and respect your right to say no.
  • I will keep your personal and health information private and secure.

Raising a concern

If something about your care doesn’t feel right, I would welcome the chance to hear about it and put it right. You can contact me at [Email address to be added] or through the contact page.

Making a complaint to the HCCC

You can also make a complaint about any health practitioner in NSW to the Health Care Complaints Commission (HCCC), an independent body that deals with complaints about health services.
